Your best Coach!

Even though the training will be hard, you will often feel exhausted and have enough, you will suffer and feel pain, but The Coach is going to be with you and He will give you so much strength, you are going to overcome yourself, because “those who hope in the Lord, will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint’’ Isa. 40:31. And in the hardest times He will carry you on His shoulders!

Your Coach is the Master of the Universe. He won’t surrender until you become much like Him, until you start running at the Master’s pace to the finish line and can finally say: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race ” 2 Tim. 4:7.
Therefore, He will always be with you regardless of your faithfulness towards Him, because he once promised, ”Never will I leave you, never I will forsake you.” Heb. 13:5.

God is the best Coach you have ever had.

And just to be clear, you don’t have to be an athlete to be the very best in Jesus’ team. You have to have the spirit of an athlete!

„Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way as to take the prize.” 1 Cor. 9:24

I didn’t understand this until I got injured from jumping into the water and was forced to quit the university swimming team, and for the next two years I could not play any sport. Even today I can feel the effects of that accident. I don’t regret that time, though, because then I called the best Coach of all:

Please, save me, I want to be on Your team!

„For you were like sheep going astray, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.” 1 Pet 2:25

To get to Lord’s master team, you have to ask Him directly. Otherwise, no matter how hard you try, you will still always be on the Enemy’s team.

„As for you, you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you used to walk when you conformed to the ways of this world and of the ruler of the power of the air, the spirit who is now at work in the sons of disobedience. We all lived among them at one time in the cravings of our flesh, indulging its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature children of wrath.” Eph 2:1-3

„Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and dine with him, and he with Me.” Rev 3:20

„For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast.” Eph 2:8-9

The extraordinary characteristic of Jesus’ team is when you are in, he cannot throw you away whereas you are going to break your promises. He can’t because this Coach keeps His promises!

„If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.” 2 Ti 2:13

If you already are on the Master’s team, it is important that you do your best every day. That you aim at the jackpot. One day one of my coaches said to us: „When you are swimming underwater and it seems you won’t make it any further – it means that you can swim at least few more meters”!

The most difficult exercise will be overcoming your bad habits and tendencies. Overcoming yourself. „Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city.” Prov 16:32 So before you start to imagine tremendous achievements and world-records, make the first step to defeat the thing that slows you down!

„Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everythink that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.” Heb 12:1-2

There is nothing left other than give everything you got and trust the Coach! Fear not, if He is for you then who can be against you?!
